Vaccination stands as a vital shield against severe diseases, ensuring a healthier future. It’s not just for children; it also safeguards adults from seasonal illnesses like the flu and global pandemics like Covid-19. By immunising both young and old, we not only protect individuals but also contribute to the broader community’s well-being. Vaccination is a cornerstone of community health, offering a powerful defence against preventable infectious diseases, enabling us to lead healthier, more resilient lives.
Childhood vaccinations at our general practice are administered by experienced nurses, ensuring that children receive their vaccines safely and with care. These vaccinations strictly adhere to the comprehensive Tasmanian Department of Health childhood vaccination schedule, which covers a range of essential vaccines at the recommended ages. By following this schedule, we not only protect individual children from preventable diseases but also contribute to the broader community’s health by reducing the potential for outbreaks. Childhood vaccinations are a cornerstone of public health, providing a strong defense against infectious illnesses for our youngest patients.
In our general practice, adult vaccinations are expertly administered by qualified nurses under the guidance of your GP. We recommend vaccines based on guidelines from the Australian Immunisation Handbook and the Tasmanian Department of Health Adult Immunisation Schedule. This personalised approach ensures that adults receive the appropriate vaccinations to safeguard their health against various preventable diseases
In our general practice, our experienced nurses administer COVID vaccinations and boosters to ensure the health and safety of our patients. We emphasise the significance of staying current with COVID booster shots, especially for individuals in “at-risk” groups. Boosters every 6 months are crucial to maintaining robust immunity and reducing the risk of severe illness or transmission. By adhering to these guidelines, we aim to protect our community and contribute to the collective effort to mitigate the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Your health and well-being remain our top priority.
